Glycation:

Glycation is a key factor of natural aging. During this multi-phase process, excess sugars bind to the structural proteins that are responsible for skin's smooth and supple appearance, such as collagen and elastin. When this occurs, damaging byproducts known as advanced glycation end-products (A.G.E.s) are formed. A.G.E.s cause collagen and elastin to become weak and brittle, leading to visible signs of aging including wrinkles, loss of firmness, and dullness.

Externally, visible signs of collagen glycation typically appear by age 35. Internally, however, glycated collagen may first be seen as early as age 21.

Protocol: A 12-week, single-center, clinical study was conducted on 77 females with Fitzpatrick type I-VI, ages 35-75, and mild to moderate global wrinkles, fine lines, laxity, rough skin texture, uneven skin tone, and a dull complexion.
